AmeriCorpsVISTA - ReStore Coordinator

The ReStore Coordinator is a year-long AmeriCorps*VISTA position with Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity. ReStore is a building materials resale store open to the general public, selling new and gently-used donated materials as a way to raise additional funds for home building.

The ReStore Coordinator will work with the ReStore staff to assist in the grand opening of the store, develop relationships with volunteers, solicit and receive contributions of construction materials, customer service, public relations, and more.

The ideal candidate must be able to work self-sufficiently and effectively prioritize tasks, must be highly organized, and must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. Preferably, candidates should have some knowledge of retail management and/or construction materials

This is a year-long service opportunity. The approximate VISTA annual living allowance is $11,350. After completing the year of service, the VISTA will qualify for either an educational award of $4,725 or a cash stipend of $1,200. Medical insurance is available and childcare benefits are available for qualified individuals. A monthly housing stipend of $250 is available from Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity.
